Based on a photograph of a beautiful negative edge pool built by Phoenician Pool Construction and published in Sunset Magazine, we contacted Mike Ferraro of Phoenician to see if he would be interested in a pool project for our new home. Because we wanted a very large semicircular negative edge pool, the construction precision was an absolute requirement. At the outset, we were impressed with Mike’s knowledge of negative edge pool design and construction. He was able to clearly answer all our questions and offered to take us to several negative edge pools that Phoenician had completed or were under construction. It became clear that Phoenician had built a large range of different kinds of pools the majority of which were in the custom high-end category where Mike had made contributions to the unique design features. His pro/con analysis was important in our decision making process and we were able to quickly finalize the design, specifications and quote/budget for our pool project. The subcontractors for Phoenician Pools are all excellent and the construction proceeded smoothly, on schedule and on budget. All the details for the very large negative edge were handled exactly as per the design. When it came time to fill the pool, we were very excited and pleased to see the water flow evenly over the entire length of the pool, e.g. the in-pool self cleaning, lights, and remote control systems all worked flawlessly. Mike also helped us with contracting for the pool maintenance and has been available to help us with our questions well after the pool was completed. We have enjoyed our pool for over a year with no problems and highly recommend Mike Ferraro of Phoenician Pool Construction if you want a beautiful pool for your home.
